Sebastian Project

(EL5533 Catalyst 100%)

In January 2015, Catalyst applied for Exploration Licence EL5533 covering the extension of the historic Sebastian gold deposit (Frederick the Great Mine) which historically had produced high grade gold (186,000 ounces @ 10.4 g/t Au).

The area under application is considered to be prospective principally for gold, particularly in association with the regional Sebastian Fault and the zone west of the Whitelaw Fault. The Sebastian Mine was a significant gold producer and previous owner, Castlemaine Goldfields Pty Ltd also intersected moderate grade gold mineralisation just north of the Sebastian township (0.4 metres @ 5.12g/t Au from 313 metres depth in FTG011).  Other prospects where gold was present include the Mopoke anomaly approximately 3kms north east of Sebastian. The Whitelaw Fault appears to control the gold mineralisation at Bendigo around 10kms to the south and is also important for gold mineralisation at Four Eagles and Tandarra where Catalyst is also undertaking exploration programmes.
